BIO-UV Group, a French ultra-violet (UV) water treatment specialist, will supply a low-floor Bio-Sea L-Series ballast water treatment systems (BWTS) onboard Polar Quest’s expedition vessel, Quest.

Quest is the fifth passenger ship, operating under Cruise Management International (CMI), to be equipped with a BWTS from BIO-UV Group. The installation will be completed in partnership with Teco 2030, an engineering and equipment development company that creates green technology to reduce emissions in the maritime industry.

This new order underscores the success of the partnership agreement we signed with Teco 2030 in 2019. The BIO-SEA system fits perfectly with Teco 2030’s ethos to supply environmentally sustainable, energy-efficient technologies to the global shipping fleet. The environmental and energy efficiency of our UV-based treatment technology provides the optimum solution for expedition cruise ships operating in ecologically sensitive environments.
